Hub Member Updates

Networking success!

Welcome back to the latest edition of the blog – with a quick look back at our last networking event that was held a few weeks ago.

Along with the Hub’s clients, Queensgate House was very happy to receive two new faces. First through the door was Jackie Kennedy who runs her own mobile massage therapy business under the banner of Spirit Fingers. As Jackie has been primarily operating around South Devon, she was keen to do a bit of networking in Exeter and so thought our event was the perfect opportunity for this. Steve Hill was the next visitor. He works for vehicle leasing firm Carparison as their local Business Development Manager and had heard about the Hub through a Chamber Of Commerce networking event. Both thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and promised to come back again.

As with last time, the format for the proceedings was based around having a ‘guest speaker’, and so it was fantastic to have two very different businesses step up to the front and each give a 10-minute talk.

Tony and Holly from Growth Guides have only been with the Hub since January and were therefore quite keen to make an appearance. All attending the event were impressed with what they had to say about themselves, and their marketing business – which seems to be going from strength to strength.

Anne from Parsons Choice was next up to the mic, and proved highly engaging – and entertaining –  as she waxed lyrical about the letting business which has been a part of the Hub since August 2013.

Come closing time, the general consensus was that the first networking event for the year was a big success, so make sure you don’t miss the next one which is set for the morning of Friday, April 8; 8.30-10.30, where you’ll be able to grab some yummy hot-cross buns with a coffee while you start the day.

Something to tempt you with…

While everything seems to be going up in price right now, it’s nice to get the odd good deal from time to time – and that is exactly what the Hub has in store for you.

The very lovely people over at The Botanist bar and restaurant (at the other end of Queen Street) are offering 10% discount from their food menu for the next 12 months (barring the Christmas period). All you have to do is let someone in reception know that you’re interested and we will send you an email that confirms you’re one of our clients, which you then show to one of The Botanist team when you’re next in there.  To get an idea on what their menu is like, please take a look here – enjoy!

Hub’s mask policy

The latest Covid-19 statistics for the southwest have shown a recent surge in numbers, and while the wearing of masks has not been made compulsory by the government, here at the Hub staff have decided to wear masks while out and about in the general areas of the building. However, we want to emphasise that this is entirely our decision and that we don’t expect clients to do the same.
